Thanks for all of your responses,

I turns out the it is hyperthreaded, not a dual core. Sorry about that. I think i many need to invest in better CPU.

    Thanks again!!!

    thanks for the reply,

When i go into the taks manager, its picking up both cores (there are two boxes with line graphs). Ill give gridiron a download a trial version of nucleao and see if that helps. if it doesnt, im seriously contemplating you shotgun idea.

Any other ideas are more than welcome

March 29, 2008 at 5:15 pm in reply to: simulate camera shutter closing

    hey,
Quincidently i just finished a project utilizing the same effect. What i did was use a transition ( im not too sure, I think its the “barn doors”). I played around with the transition for a while, adjusting the speed of the transition until it looked right. Then i added a new white layer behind the shutter and set the opacity to 20% or so and timed it with the closing shutter. THe result was the shutter closed with a sound effect then opend again displaying the footage that was playing before, just frozen and with a white layer on top to make it look like a picture taken with a flash. I hope you find this useful. I would post the project file, but i cant figure out how to attacth it to this post.

    Good luck!

February 13, 2008 at 9:51 pm in reply to: 3D Shape Extruder???

The Shape Extruder is great…but i am having the same problem (not being able to use it on shapes). Could you please let me know how you fixed the shape extrusion problem?

On another note, i was working on a project for a hockey team and I need to create a 3d hockey arena (need to create boards, glass, ice, etc). Im having problems with creating the ends. I need to find a way to bend a rectangle in the “y” demension. If there is an obvious technique that I am missing, please bear with me as im just learning to use AE.

    Thanks a million!
by the way, keep the tutorials coming…they are great!
