Don’t think so, but it’s certainly easy enough to drop the clip(s) on the timeline, cancel building the waveform and delete the audio track–even if you have lots of clips on the track.

The answer partially depends on how capable your system is. You’ll just have to see what works best for you. In any case, I’d start with your option 2–just drop in onto the timeline and see how well your system handles the footage. If your system can’t handle the footage directly, then create proxies for your editing. V13 can do this directly or you can use third party scripts such as Vegasaur. I would NOT go with option 3. The primary advantage of using 4K or 2.7K footage is to be able to crop your footage if necessary. If you downsample, you lose this capability, plus your final project will lose some quality by the fact that you’ve now rendered twice.

    [Grazie]

I’m not sure exactly what you mean by CONNECTED. Do you mean join 2 adjacent events where now they are one? Or do you mean simply group 2 adjacent events? If it’s the former, I don’t think you can do this if there is material in the original media file that has been removed between the 2 events.

Easier still, just crop your video event as you’ve already done and create a track beneath it that is solid black. Or you could create your black bars in Photoshop, save as a png and place it in the track above. Lots of ways to do this.

Another option is to do a search for VST plug-ins, many of which are free.

Then you need to de-activate it. If you forget to do this your Timeline gets messed up.

This is the main reason I never use Auto Ripple EXCEPT for very simple “cuts only” editing of a single track which is usually the first part of my usual workflow. Once you have multiple tracks with non-contiguous events, I always keep it turned off. It can really mess things up if one’s not careful.

If you do your cuts editing with Auto Ripple selected, then the gap will be closed automatically every time you cut something from the timeline. If the gaps are already there, I don’t know of anything inside of Vegas that is “1-click” that will close the gap. However, there are lots of scripts available that will do this including commercial scripts such as Vegasaur that will close gaps on selected events or selected tracks with a single click. Easiest solution, however, is to simply do your cuts editing with Auto Ripple on.

You could also try Wave Repair, shareware written quite a few years ago, but still being updated (last 2013). I used this years ago for digitizing part of my vinyl collection before getting Sound Forge and later, Izotope. It was written specifically for vinyl restoration. There is a free trial and if you decide to buy it, it’s only $30. Here’s the URL.

I really have no ideia what might be happening.

We don’t either until you provide some very basic information including source material (frame size/rate, codec, etc.) project settings (project size, frame rate, etc.) and render settings much like you’ve stated. Rather than words, it’s more precise to simply do a screen shot of these property windows and upload them. A screen shot of your timeline can also be of great assistance. For example, here are shots of the three property windows I mentioned.

First your media properties. (Select event. Right-click. Select Properties. Then, Media Tab)

    Then, project settings. (Alt-enter)

And finally, render settings. (Select Render Template, then Customize Template)

The more information that you provide, the more likely someone will be able to help.

I actually did render one part where it flickered and for some reason, rendered footage was OK.

Looks good to me. It sounds as if you may not have a problem after all, which is good news. The only problem may be poor preview performance. Another thing you can do is a Dynamic RAM Preview of a small loop region (Shift-B). This actually builds the preview in RAM and really amounts to a pre-render. The down side is that the loop region is limited to how much Preview RAM you’ve allocated in your preferences. One thing I’ve learned is not to pay too much attention to how the preview looks–always do a test render and try it on your delivery device.
