I’ve added a couple of more tools to the library, TrimToFit and Remove Hidden Events.

TrimToFit is a very simple tool that trims the length of an event so that it does not overlap the next event. It is useful when “pasting” an event into an empty timeline space when the user doesn’t want an overlap created with the next event. Here is the relevant thread. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/how-to-trim-an-overlapping-event-solved-use-trim-to-fit–121847/#ca759042

Remove Hidden Events is a script that removes events that are “hidden” on lower tracks. Such “covered” events are split so that only the portion that is “covered” is removed. It may be useful for multicam projects when the user wants to remove such “covered” events for final renders. Here is relevant the thread. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/command-to-delete-all-unused-empty-tracks-at-once–121776/#ca759298

Just added a very simple tool, Remove Empty Tracks. Actually, there are two scripts. The first, RemoveEmptyTracks removes “All” empty tracks. The second, RemoveEmptyTracks(unlessHasFx) removes all empty tracks unless the track contains an Fx which may be useful for adding an adjustment layer to child tracks.

Here’s a link to the original thread requesting such a script. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/command-to-delete-all-unused-empty-tracks-at-once–121776/

It can be freely downloaded here. https://tools4vegas.com/library/

You need to apply the Fx to the timeline event and not to the entire media if you want to animate keyframes. That’s the reason the sync cursor is grayed out.

Glad it’s finally working and more importantly that I’m not the only one known to have made such mistakes. It’s very easy to do. Good luck. Hope you find it useful.

In that case, I’d suggest “starting over”. Download again, unzip, and immediately unblock the files. Then add to your script menu folder, start Vegas, and try again. If it still isn’t working, then I’d call it a day. Since I’ve had no other users reporting problems with this particular script in nearly a hundred downloads, I’m pretty sure the script is OK. Too bad, since it is pretty useful for quickly inserting freeze frames, unlike using Velocity Envelopes in Vegas. You can also add freeze frames using Vegasaur which I highly recommend, although it’s a paid app. Wish I could be more helpful.

Something in your system is clearly preventing it from opening. Are you running anti-virus software? If so, that may still be blocking it since it was originally blocked by Windows. Try whitelisting it. Also, double check that you have installed the correct dll according to your version of Vegas.

Something is definitely amiss. I downloaded the file, extracted the files and copied the dll and png to the script menu folder in V17 and it starts without issue.

Try this. Navigate to the dll in your script menu folder using Explorer, right-click on properties. Make sure that Windows has not “blocked” the file which often happens when apps are downloaded from DropBox. If you see something like this, tick “unblock” and then apply.

You must also place the png file in the same folder. To show the icon, you should restart Vegas or click on “Rescan Script Menu Folder” in the scripting dialog.

No. It’s a completely different approach. Vegas uses a velocity envelope to “freeze” the video. To unfreeze, the user needs to add two additional points and then set the second point back to normal, all of which takes time.

The script creates a lossless png image of the frame and inserts the image into the timeline at the position of the cursor which is a lot quicker than dealing with velocity envelopes, especially if you want to add multiple freeze frames as shown in the demo video.

Just added a new tool, Legacy Text Extractor which extracts Legacy (Text) titles directly from a Vegas project file. Used as a front end to the Vegasaur Text Generation Wizard, the user can easily convert from Legacy(Text) to the newer Titles and Text. Titles are copied to the clipboard (for use in Vegasaur) and also written to a text file.

Here is a screen grab of the UI.

A demo can be seen here. https://vimeo.com/429323147

The demo shows launch of the tool from the HappyOterScripts toolbar. However, HOS is not needed for use of the tool.
