Looked at your YT video again. It has been awhile. Easiest thing to do is a simple cut and paste of “good footsteps” to the part that is noisy. You can do that inside of Vegas–much easier and quicker than using an external app. Plus you can see how well the “pasted” footsteps match with the video and easily adjust.

I also have Neat Video Noise Reduction on my clips

Most likely, this is the problem. Try disabling neat video during editing and then enable it for render.

If it looks good in preview, but not when rendered, then you have another problem. Sounds like somewhere you are disabling effects. Make sure that you don’t have all effects disabled in the little split screen preview icon on your video preview window. As an aside, it works perfectly for me. I would also suggest using universal rather glidecam.

I think Channel Blend is a more complex Color Balance.

You’re probably right. I’ll repeat what I wrote previously.

In all honesty, I can’t imagine using this filter except for those color space conversions in which the coefficients have been mathematically determined.

Use of the Channel Blend filter for these conversions makes sense. However, use of the filter for doing color corrections makes no sense at all, to me at least. Vegas has so many other tools that are so much easier to use (and understand) where you can immediately see the effects of the changes you make. In particular, I like to use Color Curves. It’s probably the one tool I use most often for color grading.

If you do discover something useful, please share.

TMPGEnc has come out with something called PGMX. Here is the link. https://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tpxc.html It claims to include video, menus, slideshows, subtitles and audio all in one file. I’ve never tried it.

I have a Sony BDP-BX-510. It’s a 2013 model. Here is a link to a new Sony at Costco which I would probably buy if I needed one. https://www.costco.com/Sony-BDP-BX650-Upscale-4K-Blu-ray-Player.product.100232668.html Nice thing about Costco is the easy return if you’re not happy. For $90, it seems like a good deal.

I’m with Rick on this one. I have a couple of Sony Blu-ray players (2013 models) that really work well. They’re wireless, but I still use Cat 5E cables. Never any problems with slow loading of Blu-rays or DVDs. What’s really nice though is the ability to easily serve media directly from my PC. The icing on the cake, for me at least, is that they play 1080 60P flawlessly. Most other media players don’t. I do a lot of personal road trip documentaries with a video camera mounted on the dash. Because of the high motion content, 60P playback is almost essential, for me at least. Moreover, they support MKV which enables me to have chapters. I could care less about menus, but chapters are a real plus, especially for longer programs. And finally, they’re relatively cheap–less than $100.

Yes, that’s correct. You have the red channel circled in red.

And so Green channel has 1 in the red box, Blue channel has 1 in the green box,

No, you’re simply misreading it. In the 2nd row (green channel), the value is 1.0–note the *G after the box. Same for blue channel. The value is 1.0– the *B afterward.

    Ellen,

It may be helpful to first look at the default preset. For the red channel which corresponds to the first row, you’ll see the value for red is 1.0 and the rest are zeros. So, in the above screen shot that I gave as an example, .914 is a bit less than 1.0, thus reduced, .079 is a bit more than 0.0, thus Green is added, etc. The same is true for the Green channel or the second row, the red component is reduced from zero, the green component is greater than 1.0, thus enhanced, and the blue component is reduced, i.e. less than zero.
