The system requirements for the Goggle Video Uploader are:
You must be operating on Windows 98 or higher, Mac 10.3 or higher, or any OS that has Java 1.4.1 or higher in order to install the Uploader.
You’ll need a broadband connection to upload video.
Acceptable File Formats:
The fastest way to get your videos included in Google Video is to submit each file in our preferred format. We accept video in AVI, ASF, QuickTime, Windows Media and MPEG formats, however, we currently do not accept Flash files. Specific video codecs we accept include H.264, H.263, MPEG 1/2/4 and motion JPEG.
If you have a video in another format, we will do our best to interpret it, but cannot make any guarantees.
We appreciate your patience as we work to accept a wider variety of video formats. If you’re unsure whether your videos are in a format we’re able to accept, we hope you’ll attempt to upload them onto our system. If there are any technical issues with your videos, we’ll inform you through your account.
Quality Guidelines:
Please upload the original source file. The higher the quality of the video you can provide to Google Video, the better your video will look on our site!
For content originating from camera phones, webcams, etc., please upload your file as is.
For content originating from a DV camera or other high quality source, we recommend encoding at full-frame size and a high bit rate (you won’t go wrong with interlaced MPEG2 at >5Mbps and 720×480 or 720×576 resolution).
