I have the Mark III. There was an update for the L&T plugin from Canon for FCP7. I have it, and it’s very buggy. You are much better off getting 5DtoRGB Batch and using it to convert. It was the best decision I made.

Thanks for the response but I guess this doesn’t really answer my stated question. I’ve seen the drop out when shooting with the Sony F3 to CF cards in a AJA Ki Pro Mini as well. Copy the cards to the external drive and see dropout. Look at the original file on the CF card and no dropout.
My question for anyone looking at this thread is: Is there software for the Mac the checks the integrity of the data as it copies. A disc image won’t. Neither will Carbon Copy Cloner nor SuperDuper!. I use SuperDuper! by the way to clone my system drive but you have to make sure it still works as it doesn’t guarantee data integrity.

Good to know. I haven’t seen this in The Master Collection of CS6. There is no option for Kona in the preferences. Is this then automatic? I’m on OSX 10.8.3 all updates and Quadro 4000 card.

Apple’s AV Foundation has completely fixed this problem. The issue was Apple 32bit QT calls. I’ve used a few apps now that are built around the AV Foundation and the 2 Gig limitation to writing to SAN is gone, fixed, finito! Write as big a file as you want.

I’d recommend 5DtoRGB Batch in the App store, (Batch allows you to batch a bunch of footage. There is another version that does not batch). The latest version is 64bit and based on the AV Foundation so it is multi-processor aware. It also fixed the QT bugs I was having over shared storage. The EOS L&T plugin is hit or miss and causes issues for me such as bad frames and color shift.
I haven’t tried MPEGStream Clip for EOS 5D footage, though I do have it. I’m pretty satisfied with 5DtoRGB. Also I have nothing to do with the company, I’m just a user.
