[Terry Flaxton] “So you’re saying:
1. output image track as pro res
***Yes I out put as ProRes if that is the mastering codec being used.
2.
a) export six separate audio tracks – how do you export LFE as separate? (so what settings out of FCP and what format?)
***I export each track separately, (L, R, C, LFE, Ls, Rs). Most times I mix in an audio suite so a proper LFE track is created. If you are not sending anything specific to the LFE, and anything below 80Hz roll off will go to the LFE, there won’t be one.
b) Or are you using compressor as a destination for the sound output?
***No. I set up an audio 5.1 session in Compressor and assign each channel correctly and render as an AC3 file.
c) Or is it then take six separate audio tracks into compressor and output AC3
***Yes!
3. Then combine the AC3 and Pro res in something like toast?
***I use Adobe Encore to author Blu-Rays, I guess you can do it in Toast, or Compressor.
4. Or ignoring all of that simply use Compressor’s set up for Blu Ray H264 as a destination and then author in toast and allow Compressor to select correct channels
***If you go the Compressor method you have to make sure you assign the audio tracks correctly.
And you’re avoiding MXF’s completely? Baring in mind they must be asking for delivery in a file something like that?
***I don’t need MXF unless that is delivered to me.
