Finally getting around to installing this thing (Tk panel) and after installing the hub app and all the instructed settings in Resolve, I have the buttons of the surface working but the rings and balls are a no go.

Any ideas? The hub app is running according to my activity monitor.

Mac 10.14.6 with Resolve Studio 16 App Store version

    Thanks.

The Tangent control surface is controlled directly by Resolve and not by the Tangent software. All you need to do is connect the USB connector, let the panel light up, and then choose “Tangent Elements” in the Preferences panel within Resolve.

They do tell you that you need a very heavy-duty hub in order to provide the panel with enough voltage, and that’s typically where people run into trouble. Contact Tangent Support and they can tell you specific hubs that they know will work.

Uninstalling the Hub software left me with no communication at all. Tangent support reached back with instructions to run the Synapse app the comes with the Hub install to verify that the panel was being seen. Maybe it was the reinstall of the Hub software or something but it appears to be working in Resolve now.

Thanks for your input. Also, to clarify, I plugged the panel into the back of the iMac directly and not a USB hub. I was referring to the Hub software provided by Tangent. Sorry for the lack of clarity.

I am a solid user of Wacom and not sure how much use I’ll get from this one panel but thought it worth trying out. Honestly, the bypass button alone I may use more than any other option. Now if only a highlight toggle was on a button… ah, to dream. 😉

Also, it would appear that Element does need the Tangent Hub software installed. The Wave panel does not.

I have the Tangent Hub 1.5.2 installed and it works in Resolve and FCPX, I have all the Panels of the Elements.
