Are there any lenses around 300mm that are sharp enough for good cinematography?
I bought a 70-300 mm lens but I’m not really liking it, because it looks too soft when zoomed into 300mm which is what I want for some telephoto shots. I was thinking of perhaps selling it for something else, but are there any lenses that look sharp and good at 300mm or more even, that would still be in a price range less than $1000 say?

You have to stay in the Canon L series or equivalent from Sigma, Tamaron if you want sharpness.
Best advice is to rent the lens you are interested in buying and shoot with it for a bit.
