Aw, well if it looks like regular standard-definition i’m definitely not going to use VGA, my plan was to use the VGA output on my computer and use a VGA-HDMI converter to plug it into the HDMI input of the TV.
The DVD player is connected using SCART.
I think i’m just going to render the video in the suggested settings and then drag my Iiyama PC monitor downstairs aswell, not as big as the TV but at least the quality will be good then.
Considering the encodes and ‘full range’, I am really not sure what you mean by this. Is this something essential? How exactly do I make sure my levels are good?

Thanks for your kind answer! Unfortunately the TV only has a VGA and HDMI input. Is there a lot of quality loss when using VGA? Thanks for your recommendation regarding the Mainconcept AVC, I’m going with that, looks great!

Alright, then I’ll stick to MPEG2. I’ve just tried to render a MP4 video for Vimeo but again during the rendering Vegas just shuts down and gives the same error as before. Later I tried it again and this time it worked (it got to the full 100%) but when I want to upload the file to Vimeo I realized that the file isn’t playable at all and contains nothing (it says 0mb). Clearly something is wrong here, no idea what though.

The reason I uninstalled quicktime was because I saw a video on youtube where someone explained that this might fix the problem, for some people in the comment-secting it actually did but for me it didn’t work.
I just tried rendering in Program Stream PAL and everything worked perfect, quality on DVD is also good. This clearly fixed the rendering problem, thanks for that!
Although I’m still not sure what the best settings for me are. I want to make a little documentary (about 2-3 hours) and I want to have the best quality, I shot the footage with a DSLR Canon T3i in 1080 25fps, what would be the best settings for a DVD and is there anything else I should be aware of?

But what happens if i render all of e’m seperatly and then render all those rendered files AGAIN? Will it still work?

Ok but I have to re-do everything then?
Another question: I’m making a little holiday-movie and I’m creating different chapters which are all saved in about 5 (the amount of chapters) .veg files, each chapter contains a lot ‘events’, but at the end of the editing part i want to melt everything together, it’s probably not going to work this way. Do i have to render everything each chapter, then import them to vegas again and then render the whole movie? Or am i going to have problems there?

Everything is solved now, it’s because I’ve got a external harddrive which is FAT32 and not NTSF… Thanks in advance, BUT I already have a new problem =)

I’ve found a little solution which is called VirtualDub, but isn’t there an easier way?
