    Thank you, that’s what I was thinking. I’ll try learning more about the method when I get back to computer tomorrow. But expressions aren’t my strong suit. <div>
    </div><div>I’ve already modified the expression to return 0-8 depending on field it’s in. So using this lookAtTime I’m assuming I could have the time remap to look at the value now and compare it to the values 4 frames ago and if one isn’t equal, use it as current time remap value? </div>

    I have thought about it some more and the problem isn’t fields. I can define those using conditions as well. Problem is how to tell the value to remain unchanged after it leaves one area and until it enters another.

    Thank you, this was an approach I used the first time I was in the mood for tackling this issue a few months ago. I think it worked quite well with the exception of numbers starting with zero – the minutes field, that is a separate layer from hours. It would always load without it – 08 : 05 would load as 8 : 5
    I don’t think I’ve managed to resolve it before but I’m gonna try again.

    That didn’t do anything. Not even error message.
    this is the tutorial I was following when making this

    that doesn’t do. It clips the beginning of the animation.

    I got this error too when I was rigging a character for animation.
    My workflow was:
    Make character in Illustrator
    export to psd and simplify it
    import to AE

    Turned out Illustrator automatically merged some layers that shouldn’t be merged (eyes + feet) -> there were big Alpha gaps. The error stopped appearing as soon as I separated those into multiple layers.

    Maybe I’m just confused, but if I precompose animation of the photo frame layer so I could than move it back and forth using time-remap and inside that frame I want to place some sort of slideshow of photos and videos how would I make theese play independantly on the photo frame motion being controlled by timeremap?
    And if I put the slideshow outside the preanimated, time remaped frame, and just parented it’s position to it, Im not sure if that would work (the position change happening at different time)
    Some solution that doesn’t involve time-remaping would make it much easier.. There should be some condition like “if time slider hits the marker, this value shall animate towards its nearest existing keyframe”

    I’ve seen this one but it can only be applied to the shutter part of my animation because I’m animating other properties of the photo comp and text field and I couldn’t if I had them precomposed and time remapped.
