I’ve got it updated here at home, encoded a two minute clip and it still does it. Still.

Ok… good sign here. My work computer is updated, must have been updated since about last Thursday, because I had noticed that there wasn’t any stutters in my encodes recently. I had attributed it to the fact I’ve been playing around with settings “a lot” lately and thought I had hit on something.

At least til I tried the same settings at home, and of course, there I still got the stutter. I’m praying its not updated at home, because I spent my entire day yesterday testing settings in every combination possible with no luck…

If I’m able to go home, update my encoder and solve this riddle that’s plagued me for over a year…

One way or the other, you’ll know how it turns out. 🙂

Actually I wasn’t aware of one.

I found this thread from a few years ago. Unfortunately,
no one ever mentions a fix, but it can give you a better
idea of what i’m talking about.

I am using Creative Cloud at home and 5.5 at work and I am having the same issue that yall have. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? It is driving me insane.

Hi Dennis,
I tried the higher bit rate with same result. This morning however,
I tried using variable bit rate (VBR 2) vs. constant bitrate in the settings. I got a clean one minute commercial this time. I don’t know if it’ll happen every time, but I can hope.

Have you learned anything new about it?

Yes, the problem only shows up in windows media player. If I import the mpeg2 files “back” into premiere, the skip/hiccup isn’t there. And I know your next thought, “don’t use wmp.” Well, our station uses rushworks to play our commercials and it doesn’t use WMP, however, the problems I see in the wmp are evident when played over air through rushworks.

Hi Dennis,
I was wondering if you found anything out from the engineers. I’ve got similar problems with my Mpeg 2 videos exported from adobe media encoder. I’ve tried just about every variation of file settings possible and in the end, my video still skips/hiccups at various
places. I was hoping when I upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud that the problem would solve itself, but no luck.

Does anyone get clean video from adobe media encoder when output in mpeg2 form? I’m beginning to think it doesn’t exist. 🙂
