well, kind of, I called media 100 tech support went through that, nothing, sent the raid to medea and it passed all tests lastly bought a new scsi cable. Before going through that try this first, throw out all media 100 codecs, uninstall media 100 then reinstall media 100, i opened up an old project in media 100 that worked fine six months ago but was getting errors recently, that worked fine i redigitized the current project and it worked well, however that was on a firewire drive, when the medea drive came back the error occured ” media was recorded with a newer version of media 100…”(I also used a second identical atto card, and yes updated all drivers). I was now 450.00 in the hole, could not get a fibre channel raid yet but needed something now went to serial ata raid put the files on the raid and all worked fine. This is my conspiracy theory- something between media 100, the atto card (ultra 3) and apple are not synching with my g-4 (mirrored doors) the raid works fine for everthing else, the scsi works on everything else and media 100 works fine as long as it is not working on the atto, medea chain, Oh yea I also put a new hard drive in the computer just in case. All three products are great, media 100’s tech support was topnotch and medea’s support cannot be beat, I hope medea will make serial ata raids in the near future.

I had the same problem you are having now, used media 100 support with no luck, good people though- try this first, put your media files on another drive, I reccomend at least a firewire drive, make sure media 100 reads these files on the time line, if it plays through fine several times the old drive is going bad, if you are still getting these errors try this next step- go to your quicktime folder in your library throw out all media 100 codecs, uninstall media 100 then reinstall media 100, redigitze your files from this project your drivers may have become corrupted. I did this step with the firewire and all was well, however when the files went back on the medea drive the errors came back, used a second scsi card and new cable and still had problems, firewire files worked well, sent medea drive in and it passed all tests good people also-, was about to throw out computer (g-4mirrored doors) but had a job to do switched to sata card and mac gurus raid and it is working well.

a Quick Question, after looking at the posts the past few days, I set up my home tv’s cc during primetime and non primetime- about 80 percent of the local commercials did not have cc, and about a third to half of the nationals did not have cc, (all car and medical commercials had cc) some commercials may have had a flight schedule months ago, most seemed recently made, earlier someone wrote about the fcc regulations- you said the orders came from the networks, so that makes the fcc excemptions moot. You obviously do infomercials, did the networks say commercials under two minutes along with infomercials needed cc: pardon the ignorance I just wanted to be sure i was on the track with this.

i’m sorry for the typo it is an RTR 360gb raid rev 1.61 and the mst is 3 the checksum says 243E. a couple of years ago we worked through a yellow warning light and the mst 3 worked, i’m not sure but i believe for m100 the mst is a 5 or 6 i forget, anyway thanks and sorry about the typo

if you are batching from a panasonic ag series camera the time code errors will drive you crazy, could never get a batch digitize without serious tc errors. Never had problems with a sony camcorder tc. if do you use an ag100 or 100a your best bet is to get a deck with an rs422 port: AG-DV2500 deck works fine and won’t break your wallet.

you can do it with 8.2.2 but be careful, before you do the video preview preference in ae save your project also you may want to set up your render que- i will explain in a minute, turn off auto save, next, set up the video preview preference. for m100 preview normally keep it quick 2 to 3 minutes at most – turn off video preview preference and save (if you save or quit before turning off video preview preference) ae may crash when you try to reopen it, and the only way to reopen is to throw away your ae preferences: chances are about fifty percent if you try to adjust an asset you will get an error code, i would get a 192. Save quit and reststart ae (you did turn off media 100 video preview preference prior). The reason i set up the render que prior to video preview sometimes if i get the 192 error and the project is good to render it may render it may render even if the 192 error popped up. hope this helps, i’m sure someone else may have a better solution.
