    Hello Don,

Thank you very much for your mail.
I successfully installed Final cut Pro 7! and I manage to solve my problem like this:

First, as you suggested, I searched the old data of the earlier version. With the help of this link I got to know exactly which files and folders I should delete.

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1348376?start=0&tstart=0

Then I found another valuable link of a Forum, where someone had the same installation problem and here I found the way to install:

    https://37prime.wordpress.com/2009/09/17/final-cut-studio-failed-installation/

The problem was probably that somehow it is too much for the computer to install the whole package at once. I just installed Final Cut Pro 7 only, and it worked out!

Thank you very much for your advice! and happy new year!

  • Thank you very much for your help!

I will try what you suggest me.
If I have further questions, I write them down.

    Thanks again!

    Hi again Dave,

I also forgot to ask. When I finisch my edition, which is the best format to export the movie?
This is not for Televsion specifically. This is a project for the university and that is why it should be a format that could be read by MAC and by PC, with the best resolution and lowest “weight”.
And which format wpuld be the best one to make a Trailer of the movie and load it on the internet with the same criteria (high resolution, low weight)

    Thank you very much.
    Cheers,

    Veronica

    Hello Dave,

Thank you very much for your suggestion.
I have thou another coupple of questions.
I already have the MPEG Streamclip software.
My situation is that I have two tipes of footage. I have DV 960×540 footage and HDV 1440×1080 footage.
I have to edit a documentary with this footage and I thought that the best way was to convert the HDV footage into DV footage (reduce the format). My question is: Which would be the best way to do it?
My other question is: If the best codec to work is the ProRes 422 how do I choose this option in MPEG Streamclip? I tryed and I didn´t find any option like this.

    Thank you very much.
    Cheers

    Hi there!

thank for your suggestions. I got a problem with the Compressor. I already exported a QT file with compression H.264. Then I dragged it to the Compressor and I tried to export a movie with these format: HD DVD: H.264 60 minutes and in the extension case I putted .flv but the program doesn´t allow me to export it, it says: Unable to connect to background process… Why? what does that mean? Probably I didn´t understood well?
