Ive now managed to anchor the base of the emmiter to the landscape but the smoke doesnt rise verticaly it runs of in the direction of the pan.(Right to Left)

Yea! You got it Alan….a subtle explosion, we call them ‘controlled explosions’ over here. Saw some news footage of one in Iraq. On detonation, the car shook, dust and sand flew off its horizontal surfaces, no fire, no flames, no big bang, just a dull thud then some wispy smoke……well little bit more than wispy actually. Been right thro the PI libraries. Anything like this possible?

I have only been on here a short while… and Ed… you do not only inspire me with the answers to so many problems.. but the stations that transmit my footage…using Vegas…have also enjoyed the results you so tirelessly have helped me provide through your answers here and in your tutorials.I think of this poem entitled..’It Couldnt Be Done ‘ by Edgar Guest…..
Somebody said that it couldn’t be done,
But, he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.

I’m double clicking on the grey box in ‘layers’. I then get my jpeg files listed and a message saying ‘the file seems to be part of a sequence’. When I click NO to ‘Do you want to use the sequence’ I get an ‘Unsupported File Format’ message.

ermmmmmmmmm….First day with PI Elvis. Want to give me a clue about loading as a shape?. I’ve sussed out getting all my AVI files in from Vegas and already achieved some really cool stuff with AVI’s. Just need to crack the procedure for getting JPEG’s etc. in.

Installed the codec Alan but PI still cant find my AVI files from Sony Vegas. Do i need to do something with virtual dub?
