    Hi,

thanks, that makes sense. On the Track 1 Bezier mask, though…
When I tried to move the actual mask from left to right, it won’t move (I’m new to vegas). Do I need to make individual keyframes across to do that? And even when I do, it won’t be a smooth sweep, then. It’ll just be a mask here, then it’ll pop up in another area, and so on, across the timeline of the clip.

I tried to use other methods, like with a LINEAR wipe, and then put that resulting video onto this project. It’s decent, but NOT AT ALL how the video shows a larger desaturated/blue video sweeping across. Just wondered if there were some trick to getting that overall appearance/effect.

I also want to get a transition border like the one on the video link using Vegas (if that effect’s unique to another like Adobe, then nevermind).

Thanks so much for the help you’ve already given!

Thanks for that, but I’ve already tried the Bezier (iunless there’s a trick I don’t know)…I have more specific questions. The scene I refer to is midway in the video when the song lyrics is “I must be dreaming…” and the color transition occurs.

I want to know specifically how that video did the following:
    1) transitioned from the entire video in black and white and had a “sweeping” transition that had the effect of putting in color into the screen from left hand side to the entire screen. If you notice, it’s NOT a simple effect of changing the entire video to B&W or sepia.
(I’ve figured out that there needs to be 2 identical videos, one pure black, one pure color, on separate tracks that have a lag in time so that you see the sweep).

    2) In the “sweeping” transition, it is just a SLIVER/small PIECE of video, and that part is desaturated and colored. But the rest of the color that it sweeps in is normal color (not desat). How do I use that SLIVER of video? Like, if I use a video, how do I time it so that it exactly matches the smaller scene that’s occupying the entire screen? How do I make the sweep go faster/slower? I don’t want to use just some random scene as that SLIVER of transition.

    Thanks!
