  • mixing resolution was a nightmare for me. i have dcvpro hd 720p and 720p 10-bit all at 59.94 on the same timeline and all i get is dropped frames every other 5-10 seconds, I’m running on a GSpeed, wished it would work. -I rendered it out trying to get playback for edit reviews but still dropped frames. It’s taking forever to re-capture all the footage to 10-bit, but when i get there….oh what a feeling, then hopefully no more dropped frames!

    – i tried exporting some of the dvcprohd footage as 10-bit uc, seemed to be ok, anyone experienced disasters down the road pulling that little move?

  • I’m having similar issues on dropped frames on playback with 720p 59.94 10-bit footage, it captured fine. Dumped it to a 1080i 10-bit 23.98 rendered out, works great! But can’t figure out why the 59.94 isnt holding up.

I didnt know having the cards in different slots made that big of a difference, I knew the top slot ( my G5 Deul 2.5 PCI-X) was faster. I have a Kona Lh, with the ATTO to GSpeed and a 9800 Raedeon on the bottom, would the slot line up make a difference on this case?

    Hi,

    Thanks for your help.

Yes, all media was captured to the GSpeed, and the render bins are on there too.

I had mixed down the audio. And went from 14 audio tracks to 10.

The tests on the Aja System Test for 1280×720 10-bit, 4 GB file size is:
    write: 185.7 MB/s
    read: 165.9Mb/s

I took my footage and dumped it onto a 1080i 23.98 10-bit and rendered it out and it worked fine. What up with that? LOL
Are the easy set-up’s in FCP a safe way to go, or do you always customize?

I’m beginning to think that it cant handle 59.94? only play’s back 23.98 and 29.97?

WOW, i didnt know FT was dooing that bad, well, at least his kids have nothing to worry about ever again, while the rest of us, well, I’ll just shut up and keep working before i cant pay rent, LOL

wow, sounds like I have to do an ‘online’ to a ‘online’.

I would have spent the extra 2 weeks using Lumiere and HDxDV to get 23.98 footage, had i knowen it was going to go to film (I had to use both sofware together to get there on the last project which did not go to film (wasn’t suprised, big waste of time)), but the KONA had the appealing real time capture, right?

I dont know why the capture is limited to 720p at 59.94 with kona, has anyone SUCCESSFULLY captured 23.98 footage off the BR-HD50U that had been shot at 24p HDV 720p with timecode?

i noticed theres a 1080i setting in the gy100, wonder if this will bridge the gap to a faster up-rez vs the 720p format, but all shot at 24p? I would image it would at least be easier to get to 23.98 from 29.97 vs trying to get to 23.98 from 59.94?

but hey, everyone of my clients loves the look and feel of the dvcrpohd 720p from the gy100, i guess if it does go to film, an online to a online will be the silliest thing i will ever have to exlpain to a client. humm.
