Hilarious threads like this keeps me checking the COW.

Bash the director and editor of a big budget Hollywood production. Clueless hacks for using their NLE of choice. Second rate. Mediocre IMDB credits. How dare!

Then when said director shows up on the thread, it’s like: welcome, we are so blessed. Btw, we will show ourselves out the backdoor now.

Makes my day brighter when editing dull corporate pieces.

[Walter Soyka] “And producers hire directors.

    (Auteur that!)”

Producers don’t hire directors, directors don’t hire editors.

    (Auteured it!)

Directors should find some on this thread insulting. Directors hire editors, not the other way around.

I cut GH4 4K natively, no transcoding, with top of the line 2013 rMPB or iMac with Pegasus Promise RAID.

GH4 4K original camera .mov files on FCPX and rMBP no problem whatsoever.

It’s nice to hear another yet professional say Apple has moved from the professional platform. That news never gets old.

Aindreas, keep preaching. You should know the Empire died long ago and no longer holds sway in these parts.

trackless magnetic timeline editing is one of the unique features of FCPX that makes it a powerful and speedy editor. If you don’t like it or can’t adapt to it, obviously you need to move on. Or you can opt to edit storylines similar to TRACKS when desired. https://fcpx.tv/Pages/tracks.html

  • [Greg Burke] “I feel that FCPX is relaying on 3rd party plug-ins to be amazing,”

Geez, why is this even a complaint? I hear it often enough that it makes me wonder about people with this complaint. So other NLEs don’t use plug-ins at all? Every NLE out there relies on plug-ins and other apps. Premiere and AE combined probably have one of the largest/most often used set of plug-ins of any post software. Without the ecosystem of plug-ins they depend on and how they are dependent on/compliment each other, they would not to be “amazing.”

If you think Gotham as popularly referred to is Chicago, what does that say about your “facts” on FCPX?
