$400 is pretty low for any sort of quality. I know of no wireless at that price that I’d trust.

The Sennheiser G2 300 series comes in around $600. Most people replace the ME2 mic with a MKE2 or something else.

The Audio Technica ATW-1811 at $499 is AT’s single channel version of their 1800 dual channel version.

Yeah, I figured that out once I saw the 23.98 on the quicktime (command-I) report.

So do ya think it’s the difference between 23.976 vs. 23.98?

Since it’s so short, can you do the math as exact as you can, give me that and put me up a stereo mixed track somewhere to see if I can crunch it in PTLE?

So you shot at 36 fps and want to post it at 30 fps.To slow the action down slightly? Just curious.

You shot audio and video into the same camera? You may not be hosed. There may be a way to do the conversion so that the audio works as well. I’m not the SMPTE expert, but you may find help in one of the Cow video forums.

The newsgroup rec.arts.movies.motion.picture.sound has some very knowledgeable folks who know a lot about these sorts of things.

[David Jones”I’m using a Wendt X4 which can matrix the source or just the headphones. As far as I know, I’m not planning on ganging the channels. I talked to their post-sound mixer but I forgot to ask him about it. The fact that they’re using a post sound engineer tells me they’ll “mix it in post”.

Here’s another question…lol. I’m using the Remote Audio caxste25 stereo cable; one male XLR is red and the other is blue. Which one should go to channel 1 and which to channel 2?! I assume red is right-channel so, is that channel 1?

Which mixer? Some mixers, like the Sound Devices 442, have the ability to matrix either the headphone mix or the inputs themselves. This lets you listen in stereo or convert to stereo from M/S micing, respectively.

Apparently the 702 supports M\S stereo monitoring. See page 23 of the manual.

Presumably, you want to monitor the M/S in stereo while leaving the M/S signal uncombined so you can mess with it later in post. I would record polywave files on the 702 to keep them time locked.

More power may or may not help the situation. You need to discover the cause of the problem. It could be that your parishoners’ cell phones are the cause. More power will not likely help that because their phones are so close. You might try repositioning the receivers closer to the transmitters and cabling back to the audio gear or try using more directional antennae on the receivers.

I haven’t tried the applications you mention, but ProTools LE might be able to do that well without changing the pitch.

From the Skin The Cat dept., can you just find an internal edit that makes the song 2% shorter?

That’s pretty much what you get with a stereo mic.

There may be input switches on the audio inputs that allow a mono mic plugged into one camera XLR to be routed to both camera inputs.

If there isn’t, you can achieve the same by using a mixer in front of the camera audio input and panning the mic to center on the mixer.

You MIGHT be able to do use a Y-cable but that doesn’t work in all cases.
