    Hello Chris,

I don’t know how the Korean TV stations use spectrum, but if they do it the way we do it in the US, they use the VHF and UHF bands. It would be difficult for him to cause problems on all of your stations with one wireless mic because most wireless mics are limited to some degree in their transmitting frequency.

Hello Chris and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum,

I’d be pretty annoyed if I could hear my neighbor’s TV. Perhaps that’s why he’s cursing. Why not turn your TV down to a level he can’t hear? Have you talked to him about it?

Komapsumnida, (did I say that right?)

Hello Tielman and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum,

This is more a FCP question than an audio question.

Try unlinking the audio and tossing the unrecorded channel. Then you’ll have a mono track. Use the MIXER console in FCP to pan the track to the center.

    Hello Dimitriy,

There is never one answer. There are many answers. You will never know until you plug in. You can never take the word of the person at the console. They may not know. You need to be prepared to deal with the situation at the moment and adjust accordingly.

Having flexible gear helps. Knowing how to make use of the flexibility is key. I use a Sound Devices 442 mixer. It has four inputs that each can be adjusted from mic through line level. The three outputs can be set to mic, -10 or line. Its transformers help to scrape off noise. Its limiters prevent overs. Its preamps sound very good.

    D,

If I thought Azden would be a good choice for you, I would have said so. When You see Azden, keep your money in your pocket and move on. Sound Devices 302.

    Sincerely,

Hello Dimitriy and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum,

Will the Sony allow the camera mic and two xlr inputs? My Canon XL2 won’t.

You’re at that critical stage where if you need three inputs, I’d steer you to the Sound Devices 302 mixer. It has preamps, which you may well need. It’s light years better than the beachtek or juiced box.

Yes it costs more, but it’s worth every penny.

Hi John and thanks for stopping by the Cow Audio Forum,

You got good advice from everyone. I like his voice as well. Try the parametric EQ and bump it up a little around 125 Hz. That’ll bring up the “warmth” and mask some of the edginess. I don’t think I’d roll off any top, but you might try the parametric EQ at 6 kHz and pull down just a dB or two. That will pull back some of the overtones that are in part responsible for that edgy sound.

Don’t go overboard or you’ll muddy things up. Make sure you test your changes on a system similar to the one your clients expect to play back on.

Laptop speakers have no low end response, so if you boost the bass until the voice sounds fuller on a laptop and they play it back on a system with decent woofers, it’ll probably sound way too bassy.

    Regards,

    Ty

Hello Carlo and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum,

Get in front of a pair of Klein & Hummel 0110D monitors. Don’t look at the price.

    Chris,

This sounds like one of those Craig’s List deals. I was going to forward your post to a list of location audio guys, but I don’t think any of them would be willing to live out of their cars.

    Sorry,

    Ty Ford
