I want to add 3D text with trapcode shine effect as well as a Boris cinematice filter to my movie that was edited in Premiere. Whats the best way to do this?

Import the PP project into AE? or Render the movie in PP then import the video file into AE? What do I need to know about resolution settings in composition settings in AE so that the imported video will look correct?

what is the difference in rending using render queue VS exporting as swf? I used the render queue and it output in .avi file format…however when I viewed the .avi file it did not look at all like it was suppose to be (many elements missing, 3d camera movement didn’t work)

are the quality of video .swf VS .avi equal when dropping into premiere?

    thanks Dave. you’re the man.

March 2, 2011 at 11:16 am in reply to: Can’t import .mp4 files!

I found the latest AE 10.0.1 update, installed it. It read that everything installed correctly. Then upon loading up AE, I still get the following messages one after the other:

“After Effects Warning: Failed to initialize mediacore”
“After Effects Warning: MediaCore is not correctly initialized”
“You have at least one output module that refers to a missing ouput plug-in. Please check your Output Module Templates”

The bizarre thing is that before, I had to do a system restore because of my Nvidia Card (which is still not working), I had this same problem but I fixed it when I installed AE updates directly from within the program. Then I was able to import all media files. but now i cannot import any audio or video files!!

    Any ideas? Re-install AE?

    thanks

SO how do you get the timing right when synching the audio to a title animation where the text must move on cue to music cues and sfx? Do you drag both audio and premade title animation into Premiere? if the latter is correct how do you tweak the animation to fit in with the audio?

    thanks

I’m new to editing videos in premiere and AE CS5. Hoe do the pros combine the audio and video? For example I want to do a title sequence and want the different title texts to be timed with the musical cues and sfx in the song. Do I create animation in AE with music? or animation only in AE then drop into Premiere with audio? If the latter is correct, how do i adjust the timing of the animation to the music if it’s already exported as a composition?

    thanks

Windows 7. I thought Bridge could play most all files. Thought mp4 was a fairly common file type that it should play. If you don’t browse video in bridge, what do you use to manage and sort all your footage?

    thanks
