Can’t preview .mp4 video in Adobe Bridge
Posted by Trev Chee on February 21, 2011 at 3:07 amI simply can’t preview .mp4 video in Adobe Bridge. In the preview window there are 4 grey dots in the place where the player controls should be.

What audio and video codecs are in the file?
What about other mp4s from the web like apple trailers?
The 4 dots are probably the rating.
Can you play it with other viewers/players?
I can’t play all files in bridge, not even an mp4 with h264/aac that AE made. In general, I typically don’t want to play video in bridge anyway. -

February 21, 2011 at 7:18 amWindows 7. I thought Bridge could play most all files. Thought mp4 was a fairly common file type that it should play. If you don’t browse video in bridge, what do you use to manage and sort all your footage?
thanks

February 21, 2011 at 8:09 pmBridge is not that great of a program. MP4 is a file type, but not a video or audio type. It is only a container for video and audio information that can be of many types. Almost all video files are like this: avi, mov, mpg.
I manage my footage in explorer with file structures. Depending on the project, I might import all of my footage and organize it into folders.
