Motion offers more than Livetype overall; except for one vital element. Individual character animations are much easier with Livetype.
That’s my opinion only.

This thread is nearly dead, but wait! What about z axis in the motion effects (DVE). That would surely help out animation elements without having to jump to different programs. And heck, they might as well give us null objects, parenting etc. Ok, enough.
Overall, I still think FCP is a great application.
