Hello – I have a quick add-on question to this one. A soccer clock usually counts up from zero and picks up where it left off in the second half. Thus any game over an hour is typically shown in minutes (not hours and minutes). Any tips on how to get the clock to show up as 90:00 instead of 1:30:00?

Oops. I left out a phrase in my post. Need to learn to use the Preview button. 🙂
When I went to change the rendering quality, I noticed that I had accidentally created the project in non-widescreen. Once I rendered in non-widescreen all of the pieces fell into place.

Hi Danny – Thank you, that did the trick! I changed the rendering quality from good to best and all of the pieces fell into place.

Hmm…I just had something really odd happen when I went to render my masterpiece. While the score bug looks great in the preview window in Vegas (White writing with one block of blue and one block of black background), when I render the footage, the white text disappears completely and the blue and black blocks move to different locations on the screen.
Since I have to look at the preview window to line everything up when editing, what is one to do if rendering causes everything to move around?

Thank you again for the info. I was able to use the zoom on the pan and crop to get the approximate size, then used the cookie cutter media effect to fine tune the shape.
Oh, and the opacity was a great tip! it looks very nice to have a little of the clip showing through.

Thank you for suggesting this. I did play around with the glow a little bit when I was first trying to make the text stand out against the clip. And it does help. However, I was hoping to have full background coverage to make it stand out even more because of the variability of background colors (sometimes green grass, sometimes blue sky, sometimes yellow leaves, etc.).

Thank you very much for the response and especially for the sample file. I have been checking it out. I see now how I should be manipulating the frame to position the background block to end up behind the text.
I feel stupid for asking…but I can’t figure out how you were able to use the Pan and Crop to create the appropriate sized blue rectangle. While I can drag the frame around readily in the pan and crop window, I can’t seem to select the background color rectangle you created, let alone change the size and shape of the rectangle.

I have had this problem when adding .MT2S files (AVCHD format). The weird part is that it happens with about every 10th file. The other nine show both the video and audio track.
Also, it’s happened on two different machines (one XP, one Vista). These files are coming from a Canon HG10 camera.
