    Hi Todd,

I am heading out the door for the day but I will try both of your suggestions tonight and report back.

    Thanks,

Just an update. I did try using a fairly new head cleaning tape and then a brand new miniDV tape but still see video artifacts. Also, I don’t see any pixelation in the viewfinder while recording so my guess is the problem stems from possible worn heads, misalignment of the tape transfer, or ?

    Rick,

Thanks for your inputs. Your assumptions are correct about the structure of the potential business. As you mention, editing does consume quaite a bit of time but does not necessarily receive the same hourly compensation. I guess I was hoping there was someone on the forum in a similar situation.

    Thanks again,
    Kurt

Maybe because others have experience and inputs to the question.

    Hey Don,

I figured that would be the response. I live in Costa Rica so sending it to a Canon Dealer is not trivial nor inexpensive.

Oh well, I may have to bite the bullet.

    Thanks.

October 28, 2007 at 2:21 pm in reply to: Canopus or Adobe Media Encoder?

    Okay,

I have run into a problem. When I first tried exporting with Adobe Media Encoder the render kept stopping at around frame 7000. I went online and found an update (Adobe_Media_Encoder_PPro1.0_Update_v1.1.exe) for Premiere 1.0 and loaded it. Now it appeared everything was fine. However, at around 2 1/2 hours I got a blue screen of death. Re-booted and tried again and another blue screen of death after about 2 1/2 hours.

This is probably not the right forum to solve this problem but I thought I would try here first.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Hey Mike,

Thanks for the advice. I think I will give the Adobe Encoder a try. Maybe I’ll go surfing here in the Pacific while I wait for my output files.
