“Scandisk” revealed the problem but “defrag” actually corrected the problem. My external hard drive was so fragmented that there was not enough “free” space to handle a large project eventhough disk properties indicated that I might have 110 gb free…..it was not all in one place on the disc. This is why I was getting the “unknown recorder error” message. Solution: if you have other projects on your hard drive, “defrag” your hard drive before you start another large project so as to put all of your free space in one place for your program to use.

Replaced firewire and firewire board. Still getting “unknown recorder error”. I’m running 3 hard drives (2 external). Ran “scandisk” and found that I had errors on one of my external drives. Scandisk corrected the error. Ppro back running smoothly again! Thanks for all input.

I tried what you suggested. I copied the key into the directory where the plugin resides, viz:Root\Program Files\Premiere Pro 1.5\Plug-in\en_US\DVdate. When I apply it to a clip, it appears. When I play the clip, the time stamp starts advancing and then every few seconds “DVdateDemo” flashes in place of the time stamp. What is the problem with this? Please help!

Thank you for the help. I did purchase a key but have not been able to make it work. I have tried what you suggested but will give it another shot. I really need to get this to work. I may call on you again if I continue to have problems with this.

I have tried for weeks trying to get this to work but no luck. I can apply the effect to a clip and can put the date where I want it but when I click on “play” it just flashes “dvdatedemo”. Have not had any help from Ilya to get this to work for me. Any ideas?
