Sorry I wasn’t clear. Creative Cloud comes After Effects and a limited version of Mocha, called Mocha for AE.

If your project warrants it, then Mocha Pro is about $800 if you have After Effects.

At my shop, our project budgets can typically absorb with a $800 software purchase. I didn’t mean to imply that every project could.
Let me say again that I am a big fan of Slice X. I haven’t actually had to use Mocha in AE for about a year and a half because Slice X is able to take care of my needs.

Good point about SliceX in Motion, and the tracker in motion. However, Mocha is an amazing tool because it is a planar tracker. I’ve never used Motion’s point tracker, but have used AE’s point tracker. Also Mocha can do roto tracking!
If you have Creative Cloud is is well worth the time to dive into Mocha. If the project warrants it, getting Mocha Pro will be well worth it.

FYI. I was able to reproduce this once, and now I can’t. Bizzar.
The time I did see the bug I was able to get the special conform to “work” on “none” again by transforming the clip just a small amount and then, switching to “none” and then resetting the transformation.

I use both and it really depends on the job. I had a simple object removal on a hand held shot (just 5 seconds) and completed it in just a few minutes in SliceX with Mocha. It is just amazing that you can do this inside an NEL. For comparison I then tried it with AE and Mocha. Ouch! Took dozens of steps in AE and Mocha.
However, many things just can’t be done with Slice X: Set extension, object replacement, anything more than basic root, you definitely want to use Mocha. The workflow is simply superior. Slice X is for quick cleanup. Mocha is for a larger workflow.
If you have creative cloud, then a limited version of Mocha is included. But if your job can pay for it, Mocha Pro is quite phenomenal.

Not that this is a fix for your problem, but instead of a Compound Clip, try using a “complex clip” which is the same as a pre 10.0.6 style Compound Clip. In your angle editor, right click and open that clip timeline. You’ve now got a new timeline witch you can do whatever you like. You can now stabilize within that clip without a problem since it’s not really a compound clip.
However, to fix a moving dead pixel, I would instead use Mocah. Either in Slice X or in After Effects. It is simple SliceX should work for you. More complex work is going to require a trip to After Effects.

Oh, one thing to note. If you are doing editorial you might have multiple takes that sound exactly the same, so you might see some issues with the sync grabbing the wrong take. This is typically a minor issue, but something you should be aware of.
To fix it set your video to the monitor angle and then move your audio in the ballpark. Then from the Angle menu choose “Sync Selection to Monitoring Angle”, and then FCPX will get you a sample accurate sync.

The good news is that you’ve learned it for next time. 😉
For now your best bet is to use the metadata you have at hand and getting your creation time accurate. For example see here, my Canon 7D and H4N Audio Recorder creation dates are off my an hour (I showed some clips that were already named for clarity here.)
Using Modify > Adjust Creation Date on all the H4N to move it back one hour. This of course presupposes that you already assigned the Camera Name or Angle Name for your clips. You can do this all at once in the Inspector.
Once this is fixed, you have some options. One would be to sync this entire reel (just grab all the audio and video), and you can use the automatic settings (which will work) or you can modify them like this:
You’ll end up with something like this:
There are gaps, but you can close those up and have your entire reel synced up in a few minutes.
Next time, if for some reason you don’t have a clapper do this:
– Buy a slate for your Phone. Well worth it.
– If you don’t have a slate, stand in front of the camera, clap your hands and give an “audio slate” i.e. say the words of what you are doing.I do this ALL the time. Plus I’ve synced an entire movie in FCPX. Let me know if you have any questions.
