Seems to me that if it’s a “feature”, then people might look toward Hawaiki Color, the product that you worked on.
If it’s a “bug”, then apple will likely fix it in an update and people might not be as likely to seek out HC.

I don’t really Greg, but what I do take into account is a breakdown like John R. had in an earlier post. I can’t say that I have seen a more detailed takedown of the pc experience. I know a lot of people have left apple for the pc but I know more people personally that tell me the kind of stories that John laid out.
It’s not about apple being all that and a bag of chips, it’s about reading stories from people fleeing from their pc experience and never looking back.
It’s working for many though, so to each their own. Stories like his give me pause.

I don’t know, it looks like they offered him this box in hopes that he would do a cool review on it like he did. I would put this in a different category from a person that just went out and spent their own money on it.
He does great reviews, it’s a win for him and the box maker. As he said, I got nothing to lo$e.
All things being equal though, if apple had offered him a free iMac pro and he said “no thanks” then that would have been a story.
Apple could have offered him one but they didn’t. They picked Marques, who has a “huge” following. His iMP review is up
around 2 million compared to Bloom’s vid that has 22k.His large, young, hip following aside, Marques actually uses X. Unlike Bloom who uses Pr. I would have given it to Marques also.
It’s a neat video for someone who is interested in Pr or pc’s. I’m not currently interested in either, but I like Bloom’s videos. He’s an artist.

When I read the statement it was clear to me that they were not talking about Oscars because they would have just said Oscars. They were taking about other awards.
For me, other awards include, Emmy, Golden Globe and film festivals.
Anybody who has done the festival circuit knows how difficult it is to just get your film selected. Even in the “small” festivals. You are sometimes competing against thousands of films from all over the world and many with very large budgets. It’s a big deal to get in, and an even bigger deal to win.

You sound like you think just anybody could win a Primetime Emmy. Like it’s no big deal. Like everybody on here has like 20 of them.

I think there are likely other Hollywood films that were cut on X that we don’t know about because they were smaller.
For example “DriverX” was cut on X. There is no way I would know that if I hadn’t met the producer at a film festival and asked him what they cut it on.
Independent Hollywood films that go through film festivals and win awards.
My feature documentary cut on X won awards, but I don’t live in Hollywood.

That iMac Pro looks pretty amazing but I plan on waiting for the new Mac Pro.
I have always liked keeping the computer and the monitor separate. I already have a perfectly good monitor with my old Mp.
For me, my top priority has always been longevity and dependability. I will spend the money for a product that will last me years with no problems. That could be a car, TV, camera or whatever.
Another computer may be slightly faster or cheaper but not a big deal to me. Just want it to work well for years to come.

One of the best presentations I have seen to date on X.
Mercer is talented, brilliant and funny.
It’s rare to see some one point out the importance of organization this strongly.
When he said “There’s nothing more unsexy than talking about organization” he’s right. It’s boring but so important.How can you achieve your best work if you leave some of the best footage on the cutting room floor.
When he made the point about the actor raising an eyebrow in a scene and then says, “but where is it?” the audience laughs because they know the feeling. Looking for stuff is a pain and slows down the process.
It didn’t matter how much footage was thrown at him and how fast. He knew it all and could get to it super fast.
One of the many things I like about X is there are multiple ways to do multiple things. He took advantage of all the organizational tools in X and made some points that hadn’t occurred to me.
I could have listened to him all day.

“I know, that’s why I said “overall”, which is more important than just that site.
