Then he recovered the file.

I’m tempted to try it with a test file.

Either way I feel a little better about it now. If I’m backing up and it’s backing up I like my odds a little better.

Even as one who enjoys using X I really enjoy reading your post Aindreas. You are a smart dude and a crafty writer. You also make great points.

This annoyed me like many others at first.

While I like the favorites and the option to add multiple in’s and out’s, like many editors I like to avoid adding keystrokes if I don’t have to. (hitting F all the time)

X will remember the I and O as long as you don’t “click” on another source clip. (or within that source clip)

Since I know it acts this way I avoid doing that and use the skimmer if I want to look at another source clip after I have made a selection. (that’s the beauty of the skimmer. Not as much clicking)

Once I have made an I and O I drop that clip in the timeline and it’s easy for me to change the I and O from there. It’s not going anywhere once it’s in the TL.

When I would try to change the in and out in the source window that’s when the frustration came in.

It’s kind of hard for me to explain it but since I have been working this way the muscle memory has taken over and I don’t even think about it anymore.

This is not to say people should do it this way or right or wrong.

The more I use this program the more comfortable I feel with it.

I just wanted to share my personal story on this issue.

This seems to be a big problem for many here, and I get it.

I’m just glad I don’t have to worry about it.

Everybody I work with knows I’m working for everybody in town (so are most in a town like this : )

I think that’s part of the reason they want me. Because I’m wanted hehehe

What I meant to say was, I’m not really certain it’s “not” a bug. I’m not really sure what it is. I would need to see it happen again.

I saw this weird deal also Matt.

I thought it was a bug. Never saw it before the last update.

I think I toggled between enable by selecting the black clip and hitting the v key and got it to come back.

I have not been able to repeat it to narrow it down.

I meant to comment on your post also Bret, that you had some good points, just got too busy.

For people who what to say, edit with tracks, Avid and Prp have to share those people.

If you want that apple way, only they have have it and you have to buy their computer to do it.

I have thought from the beginning that Apple did exactly what they were trying to do.

Which was to simplify Pro editing.

It’s business for me to.

The odds seemed stacked a year ago and they seem even more stacked now.

Apple can afford to give edit software away for free. That’s tough to compete with if you can’t do the same.

It would be like AT&T saying that they are going to start editing for people for 20 bucks.

They would still do their phone crap, but just jump in our mix also. That would be bad for me.

It seems like AVID needs to blow the doors off fc to stay, and I don’t see them doing that.
