Thanks Walter. Which brands/types of media array would you suggest for use on an iMac i7? Using FW800 most likely instead of USB.

Since I’ll be purchasing an iMac i7 with 8GB memory soon for video editing, do I still need to copy media to a FW800 external drive even with the processing power of the iMac i7? I assumed that the iMac’s system drive would be more than capable to handle whatever editing in FCP 7 and/or other FCS 3 apps that I would have open, thereby not requiring the use of an external FW800 hard drive. Am I wrong in my assumption? By the way, I’m a new user of Mac hardware, so please bear with me.
