We have experienced all sorts of instability issues with our Blackmagic card and Premiere CS4 in a Vista 64 workstation. The audio is the only thing which works properly. I have given up on Blackmagic and am looking for an alternative manufacturer’s card.

You are lucky. My Blackmagic card does not output HDMI from Adobe Premiere CS4 at all. It is useless. The Blackmagic upgrade for Premiere CS4 which was released early March 09 did not work properly on a Vista 64bit workstation and made the system crash during installation (first time it has ever crashed).

I suggest buying a card from an alternative manufacturer, Blackmagic seems to be going through problems … shame.

We are running Premiere CS4 with Windows Vista Ultimate 64 on a Dell workstation. The Blackmagic Intensity Pro card has been a disaster. First it did not work except for audio. Then earlier this month Blackmagic put new installer/drivers on their website. It crashed our clean workstation during attempted installation – several times. Eventually got it installed but the video output from the timeline still is non-functional through the Blackmagic card. Blackmagic offers no solution. Friend at Adobe and another at one of the UK PC magazines suggest their 64bit drivers might not be completely right yet.

Otherwise Premiere CS4 has been completely stable. I just wish Blackmagic would get their act together; they are normally on the ball.

We bought a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card to output video from Premiere to an external monitor. Apparently Adobe released Premiere CS4 before third parties like Blackmagic and Cineform had had time to sort out their drivers and interface with Premiere CS4. Blackmagic released updated drivers a few days ago, but Premiere CS4 will still not output video to an external monitor on our Vista 64 system.

Is there anyone out there with any tips?

We installed the new March09 v3 Blackmagic drivers for Intensity Pro three days ago. Still no video output from Premiere CS4. Audio is ok, but it was with the previous drivers. We are running on a Vista Ultimate 64 workstation. Anyone out there with success or with similar difficulties?
