Mate, I am ashamed to admit it but we were watching our interlaced XDCAM footage on our Mac Book progressive screen. As I said, I can only blame jet lag, stupidity and too much beer.

Steven, thanks I have realised what an idiot I was being. I can only blame it on jet lag and stupidity but you hit the nail on the head with your question about i and p.

Thanks for the help paul. I went so far down the wrong road with trying to figure out what was wrong that I ended up arriving at the right conclusion, which is that I am an idiot. The reason the cli[s didn’t look right was so stupendously simple, basic, obvious and plain to anyone with half a brain that I am embarrassed to say what it was (bit it does involve the letters i and p)

Thanks again Paul. Cameraman is here with me. Definitely OK on a broadcast monitor. Perhaps I will de-interlace and have a look.

Thanks Paul. Utterly baffled as to why the material looks so soft. We have viewed it on a monitor direct from the camervand it looks fine
