If you look at the video on a computer screen you’ll often see the line running through the video. It’s caused by the difference in refresh rate of the computer screen in relation to the the frame rate of the video. It’s more apparent on some content than others. I don’t know anything you can do about it.

Use the autoselect buttons to control what tracks are being copied and what tracks they’re being pasted to.

It depends what you need to do downstream no doubt, but Pro Res LT is more than adequate for the originating media.

Use ClipWrap to transcode the .mts files to ProRes LT.

You need to decouple the targeting buttons at the head of the audio tracks. There is no keyboard shortcut for this that I remember.

Editing natively means your processors have to do all the work while you edit. The benefit: less work up front to import the media. Aside from that it’s mainly marketing. You’re still going to have to recompress to something when you output. The downside: less capability available to process other things like effects and multiple tracks of video and audio while you work. At some point native playback is a hinderance because smooth playback is lost and choosing edit points becomes unmanageable.

Not available in FCP. You can spilt a clip with Control-V and then ripple delete the front part, but that’s as close as it gets.
