Hi there, had the same problams as you, where i couldent see video in the composer window.
I dont know what kind of videocard u have, but i have nvidia qaadro fx 1400. I fixed this problem by going to the display settings on this card, choosing performance & quality settings – choose “advanced settings” and under here i chhose the setting “single-display mode” insteda of “multi-display mode”. This worked on one computer, on some others i had to change the settings on the “overlay settings”.
