Why is the parent so ludicrous? Hasn’t it stood before against Sony and canon, and blackmagic? Isn’t it why sony had to ‘reach an agreement’ with red about raw acquisition?

I’m really very curious at this case, as it seems as though if Apple lose the motion to strike, they are left with the option of buying red or writing them a big cheque to continue with their plans. When you read about the early work of Graham nattress, it does absolutely seem as though there is a field of work linked to a hardware solution that has been patented, so hearing people call the patent ludicrous makes me question what the grounds for patent are. Oh – the rounded corner icon – that’s an analogy Jim Jannard used when defending in 2013 against canon I believe? Nicely done.

I have never ever seen any hint of alpha level support inside H265 codec when encoding with either Adobe Media Encoder, Resolve, After Effects, FCPX or Motion.

Is there a current compressor preset that you can link me to so I can see this in action please?

Every time I use h265, the option to export alpha channel data along with the RGB channels, this checkbox is greyed out.

Every time I get that article pulled up with this same argument I ask the same questions. If resolution truly doesn’t matter beyond a certain point, why did any films ever use 65mm? Or super 35? Why isn’t everything 16mm? Why did people want to see imax? Would Lawrence of Arabia have worked as well using a super 16mm camera?

Ok, I’ll take one for the team, I’ll prod the bear.

No difference between 8 and 4K in your opinion?

I’d predict that 8K tv’s that currently retail for around £3700 in the UK will be as low as £2400 by the start of the Olympics next year

    Hi Todd

What’s the resolution of the video wall and what is the resolution of the live video and any video inserts?

    Years.

High res red outputs to prores masters are a daily thing. New Mac Pro and increased raw performance can’t come soon enough.

This shows our experiences with it.

Tried trashing preferences, and importing different footage. Seems to be the issue arises when the resolution for the Multicam is larger than 5K. Occurs with both red and prores footage.

Ok, try changing the format to custom first, then see if you can change the frame rate?? I can set it with a standard frame size but not a custom one
