Work to your strengths. Offer editing and post services for production companies in Texas that would happily pay €20 per hour for a freelancer to edit. Do brilliant work and go further than anyone else with your time. Work remotely and build a list of production companies around Texas that you will be able to work for whilst at Uni. Gain experience working on projects for clients who value your work.
However, if you think there is a market for you then test the water. It wont cost you anything bit time to offer services for whatever price you think fits….
How would you feel though if you made a video for a kids sports team, spent 2 days working on it, sent an invoice for $50 and then were asked to do hours of changes and modifications for free? Do you see working for people who don’t value your work as good experience?

Premiere works really well with Photoshop. Could you create a template with transparent background and batch create all of your titles in Ps, then import to Premiere?
The titler is pretty basic in Pr; but I think there is a button in the top right that creates a new title based on the current layout and design – if you are creating lots in a row this might help?

If the file has to play 24/7 and the atmosphere is dusty/damp/challenging, I can also recommend using Brightsign media players. They can be networked together with the correct model (2220 I think) and will synchronise. They play from SD cards and can output via hdmi or VGA. This would just mean you had to split the film into 3 1280×720 files (and would allow you to space and scale the videos to allow for the bezel distance between each monitor…)

Just a quick thought….
There are some very nice autocue systems available that rely on an iPad for prompt use. The app is called iprompt pro. You could quite easily create a PowerPoint presentation, display via the iPad with easy and quick updates and allow the presenter to advance the show….

We’ve done exactly the same thing; the fps of uour delivery shouldn’t make a difference. If you are using QuickTime to play the file back it won’t matter what frames per second the files are as long as the monitors you have chosen are capable.
Some NEC and Samsung monitors with thin bezels have in built video wall software that just requires one hdmi, DVI or VGA input.
In past experience of installing video walls on trade stands, especially in France, it’s worth checking with the stand contractor that the supporting walls are strong enough and that the power being supplied is suitable.

Mads-fantastic! We did get a purchase order but things were pretty informal and friendly at the start-didn’t think to add late payment terms to it!
Just to add to the stories here-my dad opened our studio as a sound recording facility in the 70’s. In the mid 80’s he had it booked out by the Tory party to record some local radio spots for the elections. Was a quick job, easy to complete. He sent off the invoice (not a huge amount) and received a letter back from the local Tory mp thanking him for his donation! That letter is being kept until the mp in question ever gets a high position in the Tories!
