Thunderbolt monitoring
When editing on a MacBook Pro retina, can you use the thunderbolt output to a Thunderbolt Display for video monitoring? So the MacBook monitor would have a project monitor window and the display would have the full screen output?

Yes, plug in your second monitor and go to the menu Edit > Preferences > Playback and set it as “Adobe Monitor 2”. Whenever the premiere window has focus, it should turn your second monitor into a full sized program monitor.
