I might take you up on that – in my misspent youth I used to search around local vinyl shops for rarities, but its now a vinyl shop that is rare!

If you have the Beatles “butcher” album, I’ll have that. I’ve got most Beatles on stereo so the mono mix of revolver and pepper is interesting too.
You can’t find stones or zeppelin vinyl very often (not without it being expensive) in the uk.
Ogdens is a classic-ill have that, along with déjà vu by csny if you’ve got it!?
Or, you could build yourself a nice new vinyl music station and keep playing music the way it was intended!

Shane has nailed it, but I would add an allowance for storage throughout the project. 80hrs of footage is going to need something secure and reasonable speed for editing with. A rough calculation of ProRes SD files for 80 hours will be at least 1.6TB. Allowing for project files, output renders, title sequences, finished DVDs and 20% run over, you will be getting close to 3TB.
If you want to store secure and fast, a Pegasus R6 running RAID 6 should do the trick for you, but that is around $2700?

If you read down and dirty pictures you find that the adjusted production price is what Miramax swelled up by using their own editors. Kevin Smith made the film in its entirety for around $25,000.
Pi was made from borrowed money from friends and family and at the time cost around $20,000.
Huge achievements in film-making, and produced for next to nothing. Only to say that it can be done, and the exceptions to the rule is the talent that makes them. You are right, for the most part films shot on a threadbare budget by an unknown cast and crew are usually crummy. These aren’t.
