Ditto 6/32/700 arrived today. V fast. Had some issues with wifi card but will post more when apple have found reason why.

Just got the email. March 11th estimated delivery date so there must be a batch of Mac Pro machines being shipped to the uk with d700s around that date!

Nice – those things look good.
Tricky to import to the UK, but after pleading ignorance and bothering to search in google I can see there are some nice LaCie ones out there too.
A strange move from apple then.

interesting.
I’m not aware of any USB3.0 RAIDs that have more than 2 hard drives, but the external SSD is an annoyance. We’ve got a couple of USB 3.0 docks that we use to transfer data from Blackmagic Camera SSD’s. Sounds like this could double the amount of time it takes to transfer data from a full card from what it has been doing with our Retina MBPs.

We have the exact same spec for our first model. We still don’t have a confirmed delivery date, just confirmation that it is shipping from the US within the next 5 business days. I’d guess it will arrive on the 11th too…

February 27, 2014 at 4:13 pm in reply to: Should I have purchased New Mac Pro in Apple store for business??Well, we just had some news from apple.
“Unfortunately your order has been delayed and will not be shipping in February. We hope to ship in the next 7 working days but we have no confirmation on the shipping date. If the date changes we will update you.”

It’s a similar situation with Jigsaw24 in the UK. They have sporadic availability for the stock model with D300 graphics card, but haven’t seen a single one with a D700 and have seen few of the D500s. If you ring up to order one now, they haven’t got any stock, nor any information as to when it will be arriving. Apple is keeping everyone in the dark – most likely their own employees too…
I really wish we had purchased through apple business, or bought through an intermediary. Buying as an apple personal customer seems to offer much worse customer service, although I doubt many people who have ordered for business are being given much more info.
Something is wrong with the supply chain – either with the CPU, GPU or with apple’s build. It’s hard to believe that a firm as large as apple haven’t learnt from the iMac issues they experienced and stockpiled hardware to meet (potential) high demand.

I was understanding that all shipping delays were hitting new orders (maybe hopefully) – meaning that anyone ordering now would be waiting until at least April. However, I could be wrong, and it wouldn’t be surprising that apple maintains radio silence whilst they have supply issues, before telling everyone on the 28th of Feb that their MP is shipping in March/April/May etc.
It’s surprising that apple didn’t estimate some form of high demand for the device that they described in October/November and start stockpiling them so that anyone ordering within 2 weeks would receive their machine inside the next fortnight….

I seriously can’t see us getting ours anytime in February. With only 10 days left, even if the dispatch date comes before the end of this week, it still needs to ship to us from Dallas. Seems that US orders will ship first, then Canada and Europe.
It’s not a concern for apple but we are going to be losing money if they don’t arrive before the first week of March. Disappointed.
