AHA! I figured it out!
It was the codec that wasn’t installed on my Vista computer, but it was stored in the external hard-drive. Wow thank you so much man, I really appreciate it. 😛 -

If that made any sense…take this for example (I meant to add this in my main post…but…eh)
I download some video that I want to edit (ex. put subs in it) but I download it on a different computer (that is XP) BUT onto an external hard-drive. I take the external hard-drive to my computer with Vista and Vegas Pro 8 on it. I attempt to import the media from the external hard-drive into Vegas, yet Vegas says that it’s offline. And I do have access to the external hard-drive…
