The cards used normally with this adapter are not regular SD-type cards. It works with MicroP2 cards. These look like SD cards but are very different with another row of contacts. With SD cards you are limited in what formats you can record. Double check the specs. It all depends on what format you are planning to record.

I’d check with the people you are renting the truck from. They can often set you up with the SAT time as well. If not, they will know who to contact.

As for the listen line, I’m assuming that this is an extra audio line that goes with the SAT signal or over a separate phone line to the master control of the broadcast. It allows them to listen to the directer or producer of the live event and to know exactly when a break is coming. This allows them to insert their own material into the breaks and have it look reasonably clean.
Or it could simply be a phone line where the receiving station can dial in to verify that a signal is being uplinked at a given moment.

You might try closing the project, deleting the thumbnail cache and then opening the project back up. Sometimes the link to the thumbnails gets wonky and this will force it to rebuild them.

  • Again, check with Panasonic support. With many cameras there is an engineering/setup routine that may be able to mask or restore the bad pixel. It’s a software/firmware fix and shouldn’t cost anything (or very little). I just don’t know whether its available on the HVX200, but a phone call should answer the question.

Are you shooting progressive or interlaced video? It sounds as if it might just be good old fashioned interlacing. Are you shooting 24fps over 30 by chance?

  • Looks like it might be a faulty pixel on the imaging chip(s). Check with support for your camera and see if there is a procedure for masking bad pixels.

Might want to check the Newtek 3-Play 425 unit. Good features. Not too expensive although I guess that expensive is relative.

Make sure that the drivers for your Kona card are up to date as well.

Contact Boris at their support site. I recently had an issue running my Boris on a newer computer I had just bought. Ends up that it was a known issue with the newer OS and they knew just how to fix it. Give them a call or email their support site. They get back quickly.

The display is DVI out to a computer monitor. The input is HD-SDI or SDI with an A/B input.
