    Hello jan,

Quote- “Panasonic’s response to this is that you should be using a helper program, be it P2CMS or something else that has a verify mode. Not only does Apple say that Drag and Drop is a bad idea, it just is a bad idea. You need to have something that verifies the integrity of the media. So P2 Log Pro and Shotput come to mind as excellent programs that also do this. Additionally you should never put a P2 Card into a device that is attached to a MAC without having the Write Protect switch on.”

Drag n drop has not given me any issues since my P2 investment some time ago, is there something I’m not aware of with all my Mac’s.
P2CMS I don’t use as it does not ingest clips consecutively, or maybe i’m missing something ?.

    cheers

I purchased a Fuji 32 gig a few months ago, It performs no different to the other Pana 32 gigers I have , except it was much cheaper. Now that our Aussie exchange rate with the US dollar has gone through the floor, the Pana cards I see have jumped from $2200AUD to $2800AUD overnight and the 64gig is now quoted at over $4100AUD.
If I loaded my Five slot P2 cam up today with 64 gig cards, the cards would be worth twice as much as the camera.
No doubt some clever manufacturer will come up with a more cost effective solution in the future and these prices/products will be a thing of the past.
Tape cameras look very good by price comparison if budget is an issue.

    Hi Matt,
looks like you have a few issues happening, May be time to go back to where you started and begin over.
Double Check “all” your settings (sequence/import/export ect) and then try different files from PS.

    Hello Matt,

re set your image in PS and use a photoshop TV size “pre set” layout to the size of your project. FCP can be problematic with stills, I use jpeg’s PSD’s and tiffs with no issues, I mainly edit in DVCPro50 or 10bit uncompressed. My KONA LSe has no issues with playing stills mixed down even with zooming or movement across screen.
Using DV pre-set can in my experience cause some issues.

If the 128gig is priced like the 64gig, you will probably get a camera “thrown in” with the card. If there is another 12month wait for yet another installment of P2 media, most likely some other format may just surpass it ?

    (cynical viewpoint)

    Hi gary,
If you have an insane amount of vision, use a stand alone DVD recorder, get the latest Sony or Panasonic , they finalize the fastest.

    Hi gary,

May I add, why not just take a DVD recorder to your location and feed a signal from your Cam to the Recorder and do it in realtime, if you need to edit, then capture to FCP on a laptop or into a Firestore or Nnovia Ext HDD, and just cut n dump to iDVD not too hard.
all depends on your budget, skill level and time available.

    Hi Jim,
It’s all on my web site, we are still testing it on a couple of Macpros in various locations, prior to releasing the Drivers.
the hardware is inexpensive, the Drivers to make Leopard recognize it has been the issue.
Tiger was Solid and Great, Leopard in my opinion is not so great, but it does more, and faster.
It has given us the ability to make mistakes faster than ever before.

PM me if you want to know anything else.
