The pro features may sometime be brought on line, but the professionals will be gone, having moved on to others apps by that time. So its a moot point 😉

Now Jerry, talk about misinformation 😉 Walter has a live tutorial today show in real time the process of exporting a project out of FCP 7
using NO third party software. PP CS 5.5 brought in all the clips sequences AND text. It took about 2 minutes and was as easy as pie.As to learning curve, under keyboard commands I selected FCP7. And that solved what can be the most daunting learning challenge.
Just trying to keep the dialog honest here.

The easiest transition (familiar GUI),and the most high tech (64bit) choice at this moment in time is Adobe CS 5.5 Premiere Pro. It is what FCP X should have been.Adobe is serious about professional use (ie After Effects, Photoshop, etc).

Wrong. Anyone that uses AE and PS lots is probably heading in the direction of CS5. Great interactivity between apps.
Anyone thats had to put up with Avids stodgy GUI, their cavalier attitude

I used MC for 5 years and DS for 12. Based on those experiences I would never go back. I hate their proprietary architecture that make 3rd party support difficult. They really screwed up a fine system (DS) by inattention and lack of support.
FCP was a breath of fresh air after Avids stodgy GUI. I hated having to send out reference movies to do work in AE.
Adobe CS5 is everything that Avid isnt and FCP was…and more. Adobe cares. Apple and Avid havnt seem to.Tom Daigon
