Hey Adam, going through fonts & their styles is not possible by expressions. Despite of that, you can apply Text Animator, add stroke controller, set its width and in addition to this, add tracking text animation prop, to accompany the width changes, once stroke is set.

Just a quick breakdown on the topic, before I leave this thread:
1. Every of your sentences starts with ‘I’ in post above, none mentioned anyone involved. Not only me, but previous and current devs as well. Which, recognised by my previous experience with you, sets a tone.
2. Talking about unfairness of my behaviour here is an interesting thing, when our collaboration ended up by you not following our initial agreement, not to mention lying about the past development and hiding the truth until its revealed in production.
3. There is a bit different thing when it comes to forums help & inspiration, and project rewriting from scratch. Which, in fact, ended XX to XXX times improvement of efficiency.My point here was the one and the only – you didn’t shared a credit in public to whoever developed the tool. In our case specifically, it was one of the main agreements of our collaboration, which wasn’t followed.

While the project indeed generates a nice outcome, all the ‘I”s is a bit of a bragging (to say the least), when it comes to who made this to work as it is, knowing at which point it was initially. Seems like a lesson haven’t been learned and you still go in the same path. Pretending you did all the work, without giving a credit to the ones who actually made it to work?

Just like Greg mentioned above – anytime you work with an asset, which might be re-used, you are putting a risk into redundant work cycles, if changes are required later in time.
Think about 3 different compositions, where you use a shape circle, in each of them, as a shape layer. Lets say at some point you decide to apply a stroke. What actions would have to be done? Going through all comps and doing it manually. If circle’s pre-comp have been used from the beginning – it won’t be an issue to apply such change only once.
With texts its even more prominent, because you can’t link ‘type properties’ with expressions. So any time you plan re-using the text – precomp its original source and use pre-comp duplicates instead.
Again – this applies to every elements, not only type. Think ahead of time, and you won’t need to stress out later, then project expands.

Hey Peter, I think it is not possible. Instead, you could duplicate the same layer, hide it, and use with ‘Auto orient’ disabled. Not the most beautiful approach though 🙂

as far as I understand, you simply need to replace your ‘x’ of array value to the below:
time / thisComp.frameDurationThis will give you the change of values on every frame, based on json’s object array’s length. However, make sure to add a check/catch, where it prevents from going out of .jsons range when time progresses further that amount.
On the other hand, not sure what you mean about ‘linking y’ to some other property. If you elaborate further, it might help. Cheers!

few things to clarify:
1. How much camera moves?
2. How does environment behind the elements looks like? You mentioned grass, etc. Is there a wind in the shot?Basically, apart from removing the objects, you will have to ‘fill’ missing data with the environment. It can be done either by stamping or offsetting masked footage to cover the cleaned areas. Seeing at least a screenshot could help, but ideally – please share whole clip or portion of it.

1. Do you want the text to actually turn into a ‘line’ to begin with, or it could be a perception only?

Hey Sam, few things to consider:
1. Make sure under ‘Advanced’ section, ‘Hide warning banner’ is not checked.
2. Try to split the clip into small few seconds chunk and see whether it solves it. This is just for test purpose, to make sure it works.
3. Try pre-composing the shot and then apply Camera Tracker for pre-comp.Its unlikely that problem is due to your system, but if video is super high res – it might take some time too. Let us know how it ends up. Cheers!
