My Client literally wants me to use Sony Vegas for the time being (which could be months).
I’ll look into the MacBook Pro!

Hi John!

My quest as laptops goes has been Miserable.

I’ve tried to purchase an Alienware laptop today, unfortunately they do not sell to businesses but consumers alone.
Add that to the poor customer service and i’ve lost my faith entirely to the brand.

Is there any Laptop you’d suggest that could handle solely on the CPU?
I’ve got about 3000$ to spend and desperately looking for something.

Okay Just installed a 390x in my computer and it works like a charm!

My CPU still makes vegas tilt a bit so i go to my Task Manager and put the Afinity to 5 cores max.
Now i can watch back my footage on Best(Full) without any stutter.

It’s obvious i’ll still have to replace my CPU for this matter to make everything run smooth but as of now it’s a great temporary fix!

I am now also looking for a Laptop to do the same thing on.

You’d recommend doing the same thing by getting a AMD M395 + 6820HK ?

I’ve seen an Alienware laptop carrying these following specs

Your thoughts on this?

I’ll be upgrading my CPU to a 5960x which should suffice on my Desktop

Hi James!

As of current i have not tested it with a GPU yet.

I can playback the entire raw footage without any stutter. It occurs when i have about 200 Cuts or so done to the project.
I will test out your idea. Havent tried that yet!

I used to do the same work for a different client whom had similar gear but a different camera used as “facecam”.
I’m almost sure it’s the camera giving the extra load.
Unfortunately i’m not allowed to share the media i am editing so i’m afraid i’ll just have to check one or another!
I’ll start with the 390x which should be easier to return rather than a CPU + Motherboard

Although, a 3770k should easily be able to handle some simple cutting work!?

It’s just giving me 100% CPU Load all the time, now and then it’s completely gone.. so i’ve got no clue what causes it!

As of this month, Priority would be to get a CPU THEN a Graphics Card? or would you recommend getting a graphics card first.

Also is the 390x supported ?
