Just to clarify, V1 for Avid Media Composer also cost $2800, the same price we charge for V2.

    Hi Mitchell,

S2_Glow has a control to Glow Under Source in the effect editor. This will composite the glow behind the source title (after you click apply to title/key). The darker the source text, the more you will see this difference.

    Hi Mitchell,

Since Avid doesn’t process Alpha properly when working with effect, there is a bit of different thinking involved when it comes to doing this.

    V3 title
    V2 animated matte
    V1 background

place your Sapphire Plug-in on V3 open the effect editor and click the Apply to Title/Key checkbox. Set the Background: None and set Mask: 1 Track Below. Now Alt+Drop S2_Layer (in the Composite family of effects) on your V3 title, make sure the Background: 2 Tracks Below and Mode:Normal

A more in depth example of this with projects is available with our training guide:

    Hi Becker,

1.09 was the UB support release, in either case I recommend you upgrade to our latest release -1.10. It is a free point upgrade and can be downloaded from

    Hi Adam,

If a plug-in is applied to an FCP layer that is smaller than the final output, the plug-in will still only affect the area within that layer’s size, and sometimes appear to be cut off. To extend the effect beyond the edges, just make a nest from the layer and apply the plug-in to the nest.

Those don’t sound like AVX2 errors to me

    Hi Erik,

I would recommend running the AVX1 plug-ins for now as this issue seems to be a bug with the Avid AVX2 host.

    Hi Erik,

Try running the V2.05 under the AVX1 installer. Re-run your Sapphire installer and when prompted at the installation screen, chose the AVX1 plug-ins. This will install Sapphire V2 under AVX1 and let us know if that helps.

    Hi Emu,

To upgrade the plug-ins from XpressPro to MC you’ll need to purchase the upgrade as you mentioned.

    Regards,
