I also come across this at a client’s studio and it turned out that he had the native DVD recording software that came with the drive installed and cause conflicts with his main DVD software of choice, so OEM software was battling with new software. Once the OEM software was un-installed everything worked fine.

Thanks all! My main question is what resolution do all the Avids edit in? Xpress pro is DV right? Media Composer can do both DV and NTSC right? Is there a chart somewhere that lists all the import export settings for all Avids? My client does his offline on Xpress Pro, sends me edited greenscreen shots, where I treat them and send them to post house that works on Media Composer…

thanks! i found out it is the nvidia driver and now updating to latest firmware… hopefully that solves it.

You could try checking your composite analog output into video RCA in on the display to see if you get the right video.

Are you using an HDMI cable? Have you checked your settings for Intensity in the control panel?

Just realized you are using CS3. In AEFX 6.51 create outlines sends text outline masks to a new layer that you can animate stroke on no problem.
