I have a question about how to fix an error.

The other day I successfully created DVDs from Sonic DVD, part of the Studio Toolkit bundle. Today, it will not write, and every time the software appears it will create it says cancelling, and it ejects the disc.

I have uninstalled the software, reinstalled and even the driver for the dvd drive.

Does anyone know anything about this and can you offer any assistance?

    thanks.

Sometimes XP does weird things with my DVD drive. One day it will be enabled to write, other days it won’t. Go to ‘My Computer’, then the recording tab, then right click on your drive and make sure its enabled to record.

As a side note, always select the lowest recording speed you can. Any compatiblity issues I’ve had were fixed by recording at 2x….

I also come across this at a client’s studio and it turned out that he had the native DVD recording software that came with the drive installed and cause conflicts with his main DVD software of choice, so OEM software was battling with new software. Once the OEM software was un-installed everything worked fine.

I just installed a new drive to fully rule out hardware issue, but it did the same thing except this time it offered an error statement:
    File not a valid MPEG – 20402.

I will look into this more.

Once again, I appreciate the responses on this. I have attempted both suggestions, but to no avail. Nonetheless thanks for the assistance so far.

What kind of file are you creating?

I have compressed a QT Ref into an MPEG2 Video and Audio file (M2V for video and WAV for audio), brought that into Avid DVD by sonic, v5.6.

Funny thing is I deleted the media, reimported it and now the discs burn. It’s kind of a hack, but it is fixed. It is a pretty annoying fix for a large project, but luckilly this is a simple disc i have made.
