September 15, 2014 at 10:57 am in reply to: Premiere suddenly won’t output to display monitorTo anyone who has been experiencing this recently, on whatever setup. I have found the only solution is to trash preferences entirely. After i did this she was all back to normal. CC2014 is still buggy in places for sure, getting there, but not 100% yet.
To trash prefs (copied from Larry Jordan’s page “https://www.larryjordan.biz/premiere-trash-preferences/”)
When launching Premiere Pro from either a Mac or PC, hold down two keys while launching.
This automatically throws away Premiere’s preferences. For the Mac, press Shift+Option
For the PC, press Shift+Alt
In both cases, continue holding the keys until the splash screen appears. You will know you successfully trashed preferences when the splash screen doesn’t have projects listed.Hope this helps someone.

June 16, 2013 at 12:45 am in reply to: Premier pro cs 5.5 program monitor freezing cronicallyInteresting. Although, some SD formats still have a very high bitrate like the digi betacam. Could this be the case?
Your internal hard drive is a slow one (5400rpm) but should hold a SD stream fine so long as the bit rate is low.
If anything for the benefit of your system i would reccomend a faster operating system drive like a 7200rpm or even a SSD and then keep your files on the 5400rpm one you have now.
Its hard for me to comment on the issue anymore as i jumped to a macbook with a ssd as the boot drive and raid 0 external drives for my raw and scratch. All my issues were solved except the usual minor bug you get with prem.
When you lay the footage down on the timeline does it show green or orange or red above the clips?

June 15, 2013 at 10:13 pm in reply to: Premier pro cs 5.5 program monitor freezing cronicallyHi Greg,
I think this issue could be directly related to hard drive speed, i am running raided drives now and have no issue.
If you download black magic disk test and run it from your raw drive and scratch drive i think you might find they are the problem.
My raw drive is around 80-90 write and 90-100 read and i have no issues on that.
Editing HD and higher is almost impossible without a fast drive going through a fast connection like esata or thunderbolt.
Cheers

May 31, 2013 at 6:05 am in reply to: Menu data works but not camera info to 7″ monitor from SONY FS700, fix?Hey There,
I had the exact same problemn when i got my small hd dp4 but its an easy fix once you know how.First go to the menu on fs700, then “display set”, go to “display output” and set “all output”.
Now if you only have timecode and image on your external it is because you have your markers on ie 4:3 safe etc. If you turn these off by using the master “on/off” in the “marker” menu (also in the “display set” menu), all info will be output.Strange design/bug but thats how it is currently.
Hope this helps.

March 7, 2012 at 8:28 pm in reply to: Premier pro cs 5.5 program monitor freezing cronicallyhey i did get mine working eventually. i think its either a .xmf file issue or a issue with over 2k resolutions that are jpegs.
What i did:
cleared cache.
cleared preferences
exported any jpeg sequence as a prores 422
deleted all jpeg files from the import bins
deleted all rendered previews
closed project and force quited all premier related processes such as pproheadless and adobe server
re-opened project and then replaced the jpeg sequences with the prores files.
rendered entire preview sequencehas been working fine ever since then.
There it is

February 16, 2012 at 10:40 am in reply to: Premier pro cs 5.5 program monitor freezing cronicallyso i tried these things to try fix it with no results.
Exported any sequence over 1080 as a prores file and then removed all associated files and sequences:still have the freeze
I also opened old projects that were all 1080 native and they worked fine so it is definatly project specific i just cannot nail down the problem which is super frustrating as i only need to make seven changes before export but cannot edit and grade blind as it will not even render a frame for magic bullet looks. -

February 15, 2012 at 8:04 pm in reply to: Premier pro cs 5.5 program monitor freezing cronicallyHey amazed at the quickness of the response!
Yes i do use a external monitor but just a lcd not a broadcast one. I also thought that this may be the case so i did a full shutdown and then started up with no monitor connected. No luck.
maybe there are conflicting .xmp files that are messing with the media. i will clear the entire preview cache soon so im hoping that will work.
