January 3, 2017 at 1:49 am in reply to: Is it possible to transcode/consolidate group clips? Many years on I am still having problems with this same issue.
I am working remotely, and when the producer sends me their assemblies, non-group material relinks perfectly, and some small groups relink.
But large groups with four cameras and a lot of audio tracks won’t relink. Committing multicam edits is not an idea solution obviously, as I’d like to be able to access the other cameras.
Hard copying every media file is not feasible due to the size of the production, although I have had success with this method in the past.

July 3, 2013 at 11:58 pm in reply to: Bought 5.5 – 7.0 upgrade, can I download 6.5 as well?Hi Ricky,
So you’re saying if I run the v7 dongle updater but install the 6.5 application everything will work and I can install v7 later on?
If so, do I need to start with the earliest v6 I can download, and install several updates, or can I go straight to 6.5?
Thanks

This is my concern also.
What I’m trying to ascertain is:
a) Am I entitled to both 6.x and 7.x upgrades?
b) if so, what process should I follow to upgrade. There are quite a few downloads I can see on the site, but I want to make sure I do everything in the correct order.

Hi Michael,
Better late than never. I downloaded the Apple codec pack (I didn’t have prores), and followed your suggestion and it worked!
Thank you so much. Not sure why the other codecs didn’t work, but happy with the result.

Ok, I tried again and this time the ac3 exported out of bitvice.
However I still have a problem with the pictures.my duration in avid is 5:04. After bitvice, it’s only 4:25.
So I’m confident it’s not the audio. I can’t fathom what I’m doing wrong here.

Thanks Gary,
I did use the bitvice audio encode the first time, but it didn’t create an ac3 file which I believe is needed to create the DVD. I think it created an aif. Perhaps I should have tried with the aif?
I’m using the demo version of bitvice btw, so not sure if I’m missing some functionality.
Do you think SoundConverter is the cause of my authoring problems?

April 19, 2011 at 7:26 am in reply to: Is it possible to transcode/consolidate group clips?I haven’t tried that, but it’s a big project and the grouping is done by the assistants so locating all the sources could be almost as time consuming as moving things manually.
But this has made me think, what if I get the bin to ‘show media relatives’ and transcode those instead of the sequences.
Might try that and see what happens.

Fair enough, I can cope with it.
Thanks.

Thanks!
The control-alt thing is what I’m after, though it’s a pity you can’t zoom all the way out.
